The Post Office at Combe Hay was run by Mrs Elsie Hillier from 1937 until she retired as Britain's oldest Sub-Postmistress in 1983 at the age of 102, sadly she past away  in 1986 age 105.


Mrs Hillier in 1970 when she re-opened only four weeks after she was scalded with a pot of tea.
